What: WiT Breakfast Date: The Role of Technology in Sustainability – view points from UTU’s Materials and Mechanical Engineering

When: 01.10.2020 08:00-09:30

Where: Online Stream

Target group: working professionals, students and all interested in expanding their knowledge in diverse perspectives of new technologies.

Technology plays a considerable role in sustainable development across our globe. Technological solutions vary in form and purpose. E.g., some initiatives are geared towards mitigation, while others focus on adaptation. However, currently there is a need to understand and reflect upon how our technological solutions support or promote sustainability across different disciplines and applications.

During this breakfast, we will start a conversation of the role of technology in sustainability from Materials Engineering viewpoint, which is the new M.Sc. (Tech) major subject in UTU. Speakers are professor Kati Miettunen and university lecturer, Dr. Ulriika Mattinen from University of Turku.

Join us and be part of the conversation. We are learning and exploring different perfectives related to technology – beyond materials engineering, mechanical engineering and sustainability – with the experiences and knowledge of all the participants.

The event will be held in English.

Remember: everyone irrespective of gender and background is welcome to participate in the WIT breakfast dates.

The event is free.
