The management of pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement (P&R) decisions in European countries and e.g., USA differs a lot. In addition, the market access route between different Health Tech products is different and the private and public sector practices varies per country. The awareness of these issues is important as companies may face many challenges. Therefore, you are welcome to join this webinar dedicated to pricing and reimbursement systems of pharmaceuticals. The webinar outlines shortly the pricing and reimbursement systems of Finland, Germany, UK, France, and the USA. Pricing and Reimbursement are linked to Health Technology Assessment (HTA) systems, are affected by Treatment Guidelines, and should be considered already in the clinical trial planning phase. The aim of this webinar is to explore the principles and practices used to assess whether a company’s product is eligible for the country’s reimbursement system. The webinar is intended for drug development and pharmaceutical companies who need more information on pricing and who want to expand their understanding of reimbursement systems in various important global markets.

The speakers are Juha Laine and Susanne Sange:

Juha Laine is a health economist and social scientist with over 15 years of pharma industry experience. He currently works at Roche Finland, which is part of F. Hoffmann-La Roche AG, a Swiss multinational healthcare company. In 2021, he was also appointed Professor of Practice in Pharmacoeconomics at the University of Turku. Juha Laine’s expertise is related to real world data, cost-effectiveness, market access, price regulation, value-based health care, value demonstration and risk-sharing contracting.

Susanne Sange holds a diploma in health economics from the University of Bayreuth, Germany. She started her career in the market access department of Altana Pharma AG. Before joining Bayer AG, she was responsible for Market Access at Jerini AG. For 13 years now, she has been working as Global Pricing Manager at Bayer AG focusing on different products and therapeutic areas in Germany, the US and Switzerland and is leading the Pricing Excellence Community.
