Turku launches new networking platform for startups and investors
Finland’s largest cities have published their region-specific Dealroom startup ecosystem platforms on Thursday 15 September. In addition to Turku, Business Finland, Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere and Oulu are also included. The new networking platform brings together a wide range of startups and investors, including international ones.
Turku Science Park Ltd, a regional development company in the Turku region, has launched the Turku Startup Ecosystem Platform together with Dealroom.co. The new platform provides comprehensive information on startups, investors, funding rounds and the rest of the startup ecosystem, both regionally and internationally.
“Turku Science Park wants information about startups, investors and different ecosystem actors to be as accessible and comprehensive as possible. With the new platform, we aim to increase the visibility of startups in the Turku region, making it easier to connect companies and investors, for example,” says Tom Palenius, CEO of Turku Science Park Ltd.
According to Elias Savonlahti, Community Manager of SparkUp, Turku’s startup community, the Dealroom platform will be an important part of the development of Turku’s startup ecosystem, providing important information for startups, investors and other actors.
“SparkUp, Turku’s startup community, which aims to maximise the benefits of regional networks for startups, is excited about the new platform and the opportunities it offers for collaboration,” Savonlahti says.
Dealroom startup ecosystem platforms exist all over the world. The Turku region platform is constantly being updated, but a large number of players have already moved to the ecosystem.
“Startups and other players should sign up to the ecosystem and take control of their own profile. It is also desirable that those players who are still missing from the platform contact us. This way, Dealroom will become as broad a startup ecosystem serving the business community in the Turku region as possible,” Savonlahti says.
