BIC BRIDGE – Biomarker commercialization IVD applicable biomarker research and innovation implementation development guide

Duration: 1.10.2020 – 30.6.2021

Project coordinator: Ideklinikken, Aalborg University Hospital

Project partners: Turku Science Park Ltd, University of Turku, Labmaster Oy, Tartu BT Park OÜ, BioCon Valley® GmbH, Wroclaw Technology Park, Dianox APS and EATRIS.

Funding: The project is funded by Interreg Baltic Sea Region with a total budget of 755 000 €.

Project in a nutshell: Only a small fraction of all biomarker inventions progress to a commercial product: a diagnostic test for clinical use. The BIC (Biomarker Commercialization, 2017-2020) project aimed to promote the commercialization of these inventions and developed tools for researchers, supporting especially the early stages of product development. The BIC BRIDGE follow-up project complements the biomarker commercialization tools developed in the BIC project: develops guidance on the final stages of commercialization and product launch (TRL7-TRL9), identifies necessary training packages (business skills, quality systems, etc.), and describes a biomarker commercialization roadmap, based on the newest EU guidelines. The results of the project will be beneficial for companies, researchers, and technology transfer offices.

Turku Science Parki Ltd’s tasks in the project: Supplementing the commercialization guide, communication, and marketing.
