Current affairs at March 2019 BioTreffit and Health Tuesday event

  • BioTreffit and Health Tuesday event every first Tuesday of the month connects professionals of health and wellbeing locally and via web cast and on site in Turku
  • In March the event introduced Business Finland´s new Smart Life Finland program and the Health & Wellbeing in the Digital World – Vision 2025 report
  • The local part concentrated on presentation of BIOCAD which expanded to Turku in 2017

The March 2019 Health Tuesday event served as a launching ground for Business Finland’s new Smart Life Finland program. The goal of the program is to promote individual, real-time, intelligent health and wellbeing services. The 4-year program (2019-2022) offers innovation funding, networks as well as internationalization and export services to Finnish companies of any size, research organizations and public health and wellbeing operators. Siddharth Saha from Frost & Sullivan went on to introduce the key findings of the Health & Wellbeing in the Digital World – Vision 2025 report. The study on the landscape of developments that will impact the delivery of Health & Wellbeing was commissioned by Business Finland and Future Watch to better understand the anticipated transformations, impacts and opportunities to support its strategy for ensuring Finland is well positioned to take advantage of such trends and to help drive better decision making for all stakeholders in Finland. BIOCAD in local company presentation

During the onsite part of the event Heikki Niskanen, International Quality Director at BIOCAD, introduced the biotechnology company to the audience. BIOCAD was established in 2001 and expanded to Turku in 2017. The company is now Russia’s leading innovative biotechnology company with over 50 approved products and a 15% market share in oncology. BioTreffit and Health Tuesday event has been arranged since April 2014 the first Tuesday every month. The web cast is organized by Business Finland. The onsite part is planned by Turku Science Park Ltd and presents a local company or a current issue.  In Turku the event takes place at SparkUp facilities. It is free of charge but requires registration. The event offers an excellent opportunity to discuss with professionals of health, wellbeing and health tech companies, decision makers, and representatives of the public sector.
